Can someone tell me why Shihad are getting NZ on Air video funding this month? They are currently NZ’s biggest rock band, they have 7 gold+ records. They regularly and consistently play sellout shows. They are signed to a major international record label. They get regular airplay inside and outside NZ. To put it mildly, they aren’t struggling. The band haven’t been based in New Zealand since 1999, with only singer Jon Toogood living here, the rest in Australia.

Pros: Really nice beats, genuine insightful lyrics, Indie yet unpretentious. Fave Tracks? Blast Off Rap Star, The Art of Blurring Weekends Together, A Sound Supreme. Oh and the album is available for free, the way of the future I tell ya’.
